Allison Merle was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Allison Jackson Dick and Pauline Elizabeth Paulos Dick. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1966 and the University of Texas at Austin in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Upon graduation, Allison began a 22-year career with the University of Texas, her last position being Director of Special Programs in the office of the vice president.
Allison was an avid reader and was extremely proud of her extensive library. She also was extremely devoted to her cats who eagerly returned her affection. She enjoyed traveling and was particularly fond of Paris, France. Allison loved working at the University of Texas which brought her great joy and satisfaction. She made many lifelong friendships with her co-workers who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Grayson Dick.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Davis; sister, Diane Stanley and husband, Chuck; nieces, Melanie Van Blarcum and husband, John, and Michelle Knight and husband, Tom; sister-in-law, Mary Reagan; great-nieces, Winter Willis, Ivy Jean Van Blarcum, Madeline Knight and Laura Knight; as well as many friends and loved ones.
