Joan E. (Delaney) DiMaggio of Plymouth, formerly of Somerville, died peacefully Sept. 1, after a long illness with Alzheimers disease. Born in Cambridge, March 19, 1931, she was a beloved daughter of the late Hugh and Anastasia (Kelleher) Delaney. Joan was a longtime employee of John Hancock Insurance Co. She is survived by her devoted husband, Carmen DiMaggio. Also survived by several dear friends who closely touched her life; and by several cousins who provided much love and support. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Rd., Manomet, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Friday from 3-6 p.m. Burial in Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury. Memorial donations in Joans name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472, and/or Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
