MRS. MAXWELL DEWEY
Mrs. Flora S. Dewey, 84, widow of Maxwell E. Dewey, died Wednesday at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in St. George Feb 22, 1880, daughter of Will H. and Harriett (Howe) Scribner.
She was married on her birthday, Feb 22, 1900. The couple moved to Bennington in 1926 and he was employed at the H.T. Cushman Manufacturing Co. in North Bennington prior to his death a few years ago.
Survivors include two sons, Carroll Dewey and Seaton Dewey of Bennington; a daughter, Mrs. Rufus (Esther) Dwyer of Bennington; a brother, Willis Scribner of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Howard Walker of Randolph; 15 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home by the Rev. Merrill Tyler, pastor of the Seventh Day Advent Church. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
