Pleasant Valley, NY - Jo-Anne P. Scaccia, 67 years old, a devoted wife, mother, and loving grandmother, died December 28, 2007 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Jo-Anne was a life-long area resident, she was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on September 20, 1940 to the late Joseph Dewey and Elizabeth Rudolph. On May 15, 1960, at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction, she married C. David Scaccia, who survives at home. Jo-Anne was known for being a magnificent sewer and a fantastic cook; she could cook and sew with the best of them. She was the manager of the So-fro Fabrics Store, Poughkeepsie, until she retired in 1991. Along with her loving husband David of 47 years; Jo-Anne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Todd and Jane Scaccia of Hyde Park; and also by one sister: Bette-Jo McCourt of Pleasant Valley and two nephews: Peter McCourt and his fiancée Bonnie Moran of LaGrange and Brian McCourt and his wife Kate of Collegeville, PA., and many dear friend. JoAnne is also survived by her two loving granddaughters Rebecca and Rachel Scaccia, whom were the loves of her life. Beyond all, Jo-Anne will be greatly missed by all, but will always be with us in spirit. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Jo-Anne on Saturday, January 5th, 9:00 am at the St. Denis Church, Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
