Mary Lucille Melo DeWell
February 5, 1925 – April 14, 2003

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taft for former Taft resident, Mary Lucille Melo DeWell, 78.

Mrs. DeWell was born in Maricopa on February 5, 1952 and was in Pueblo, Colorado when she went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2003.

She was a member of the Y.L.I., S.P.R.S.I and U.P.P.E.C. She was a volunteer for the Pueblo Meals on Wheels Program. Mrs. DeWell was an avid bowler and she loved her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gus and Mary Melo; her brother Gus Melo and her sister, Virginia Lumpkin. Mrs. DeWell had a kind and loving heart and she will be deeply missed by her husband of 44 years, her nieces and nephews and their spouses, and by several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Mary's long time friend, Melinda, for her friendship, loving care and support.

The family respectfully requests the omission of food and flowers and asks that those wishing to do so make contributions in memory of Mrs. DeWell to St. Mary's Altar Society, in care of St. Mary's Church, 110 East Woodrow Street, Taft, California 93268. No visitation hours are scheduled and the services are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
