Barden, Jane D.
GLENS FALLS -- Jane D. Barden, 91, of Glens Falls, originally of Binghamton, died peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2007, in Glens Falls.
She was the daughter of Dawn Devine and Charles H. Devine of Binghamton.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, Roger Ezra Barden, her natural children, James Philip Barden and Christine Sears, her stepchildren, Roger R. Barden and Delores (Barden) Zizak and a sister, Mary Dawn Devine, who died at birth.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Michele (Barden) Sprague (Peter) of West Sand Lake, N.Y.; a son, Charles F. Klein (Diana) of Binghamton; natural grandchildren, Steven C. Klein (Lisa) of Port Crane, N.Y., Brian F. Klein (Denise) of Binghamton, Michael J. Sears (Sue) and Michelle C. (Sears) Discenza (David) of Queensbury, and Christina (Sprague) Desmond (Daniel) of Jeffersonville, N.Y., many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and by a very good friend, Ruth Mesick of Voorheesville.
Jane attended schools in Binghamton and San Diego, Calif. As a child, she had her own weekly radio program in Binghamton.
More than anything else in life, Jane loved her family and friends. She greatly enjoyed music, especially playing the violin and organ and singing.
She taught organ and piano for many years in the Capitol District
A devoted Episcopalian, she attended church regularly.
Family and friends may call Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley, N.Y.
A service will be held immediately following the calling hour with Father Lee Love of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Owego, officiating.
Interment will follow at the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of NYS, 3 Winners Circle, Suite 300, Albany, NY 12205, in her memory.
