Lula Bass, age 74, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Bellflower, near Lee.
Mrs. Bass was born in Taylor County the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Devane.
She was married to Sumpter Bass who preceded her in death in 1920. She lived most of her life in Madison County and was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Survivors are one son, John E. Bass of Madison; five daughters, Mrs. R. Q. Earls of Perry; Mrs. Henry B. Golden of Jacksonville; Mrs. E. O. Rutherford and Mrs. Alex Tuten, both of Madison; and Mrs. Robert Bellflower of Lee; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; one brother Hayward Devane of Monticello; one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Dice of Jacksonville and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Thursday in New Home Baptist Church with burial in San Pedro Cemetery.
