Mary was born in Mecklenburg (Germany). She is most likely the second wife of her husband Charles. In the U.S. Census records, she reports she came to the U.S. in 1867. Her husband reports he came in 1865. In the 1900 census, she and her husband report that they had been married for 32 years. Her husband has two children who were born in Pomerania prior to 1868.
In the 1900 U.S. Census,for Liberty Township in Porter County, Mary reports she had six children and three were living. In the 1910 census, she reports she had four children and three were living. Perhaps the disparity is the two daughters from the previous marriage of Charles which Mary helped raise.
The children of Mary and Charles were most likely: Minnie, William, Henry (Ernestine Lorenz) and Frank. William would have been the child to be deceased in the 1910 census.
