Mr.Willis DeShazer who came to this vicinity in 1893 died Monday afternoon in the hospital at Okemah after a lingering illness of 2 1/2 years. He was 82 years old on the 7th of this month.
Mr. Deshazer was born and reared in Manhattan, Kans. On July 15, 1884 he was married to Miss Rosie Kerns at Salina, Kansas. (In '93 they moved with) lived here until seven years ago, since then they've made their home at Cromwell, Oklahoma. As long as his health permitted, Mr. DeShazer farmed and raised livestock.
He was a member of the Baptist church and of the Odd Fellow Lodge.
Suviving him are his widow; four sons, W.A. DeShazer of Rexford, Montana, Bert of Skiatook, Earl of Cromwell, and T. J. in the armed forces in Italy, a son, Arnold, gave his life on the western front; three daughters, Mrs. May Easter of Skiatook, Mrs. Minnie Sheets of Maddl,and Mrs. Myrtle Prather of Ramona and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday,2 p.m. at the Baptist Church. Internment was at Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
