Ivy B. "Paul" Derrick, 79, of Nitro passed away June 6, 2010, at home.

He was retired from Union Carbide Corp and graduated from Sissonville High School. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Martha King Derrick of Nitro; children, Pamela Derrick of Nitro, Nancy (David) Dudley of Cross Lanes and Larry (Debra Derrick of Derricks Creek; granddaughter, Sara Derrick; grandson, Jason (Jennifer) Derrick; sisters, Maxine (Arlie) Rhodes of St. Albans and Julia Derrick of Nitro; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilson Derrick and Nellie Asbury; brothers, James, Lester, Don Derrick and Johnny; and sister, Vernetta Miller.

The family would like to thank HospiceCare.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Rob Van Fossen officiating.

Burial will be in the Derricks family cemetery, Derricks Creek.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Long & Fisher Funeral Home.
