Obituary:Daily Democrat, Jerseyville, Illinois, June 25, 1897-Telegram from St. Louis received here last night announces the death of Mrs. Clara Derby, wife of Harry Derby, at her home in the city at 6PM yesterday, Mrs. Derby formerly resided in Jerseyville. She leaves one child, a daughter about 14 years of age. The remains will be brought to Jerseyville for Interment Saturday morning and the funeral will take place from the reseidenceof Mrs. George Dunton on East Carpenter St. Sunday 2:30 PM>Reverend J.J. Porter conducting the services. Mrs. Derby was 36 years of age, paralysisof the heart is assigned as the immediate cause of death. Some time ago, while in Jerseyville, Mrs. Derby was thrown from a runaway buggy and her skull was factured. The injury did not heal and later produced partial paraysis which fianlly affected her heart.
