Ness City -- George M. Depperschmidt, 90, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Cedar Village, Ness City. He was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Antonino, the son of Clemens and Mary Lang Depperschmidt.

He was a farmer and rancher, a lifetime resident of Ness City and a member of Sacred Heart Church, Ness City.

On Oct. 7, 1941, he married Tillie Pfannenstiel in Ness City. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include: sister, Mary Pfannenstiel, Ness City; grandchildren, Eric Depperschmidt, Garden City, Tod Depperschmidt, and Jana Irvin, both of Scott City; six great- grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Ann Depperschmidt, Ness City.

He was preceded in death by: son, Ronald; brother, John; and five sisters, Catherine Munsch, Ana Stoecklein, Margaret Haas, Linda Rupp and Martina Tittel.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Sacred Heart Church, with Father Henry Hildebrandt presiding. Friends may call at the church until service time Monday. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Sacred Heart School, in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
