Ellis -- Clarence A. Depperschmidt, 67, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000 at the Hays Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 18, 1932 in Liebenthal to Joseph and Barbara (Obholz) Depperschmidt. He was a construction worker. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He married Espie Blackston. She died in 1992.

Survivors include his mother, Ellis; a brother, Leo, Garden City; five sisters, Lillian Dinges, Ellis, Edna Augustine, Ellis, Helen McLaughlin, San Diego, Dorothy Bittel, LaCrosse, and Angie Bittel, LaCrosse. He was preceded in death by his father, four brothers, Alex, Edward, Joseph, and Otto Depperschmidt, and two sisters, Frances Depperschmidt and Mary Ann Brandt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, LaCrosse, with Father Benjamin Martin officiating; burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal. Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today at Janousek Funeral Home, LaCrosse. There will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggest to the organization of the donor’s choice.
