Carol J. Deppe, 80, of Salina, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the home of her son, in Salina, after a long illness. Mrs. Deppe was born Carol Joyce Owen on Sept. 29, 1931, in Marysville, to Chester N. and Eva Marie (Bentley) Owens. She had worked for the Salina Police Department for several years in the booking records department. She then worked for Tony's Pizza in Salina for more than eight years as the relief crew leader. Following her employment at Tony's, she owned and operated May Answering Service in Salina. She then worked at Pettles Flowers for more than eight years as a delivery person until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merl W., in 1992; daughter, Michelle Deppe-Villines, in 1994; and son, Scott Deppe, in 2011.
She is survived by one daughter, Denise Miller (husband, Dan), of Olathe; son, Bruce, of Salina; six grandchildren, Danielle, Brandon, Collin, Megan, Dylan and Cody; and five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Carter, Avery, Sloan and Finvola.
Cremation has been chosen, and there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 E. Beloit, Salina, with the Rev. Dr. Martha Murchison officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the hospice of the donor's choice.
