Elizabeth Denzinger was born in Pennsylvania, her family moved to Louisville where her father George Denzinger was a stone mason. He helped to build the foundations for the "K & I " Railway bridge from Indiana to Kentucky. Elizabeth married Adam Herdt and they lived on Oak Street in a "Camelback Shotgun" style house where they raised their 10 children.
