Thelma Bondurant Campbell, 86, of Rt. 5, Martinsville, died Saturday, September 9, 1995 at Martinsville Convalescent Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson Campbell, and her first husband, Benjamin Howard Bondurant. She was born October 27, 1908 in the Sontag Community of Franklin County to the late John Henry Dent and Lou Emma Slayton Dent. She was a past clerk of Montgomery Ward and Lazarus. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School and sang in the choir, was a member of the WMU and was a former Clerk of the Church. She had served as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Morris (Lucille) Whitehead, two infant children, a sister, Maude Henski, and three brothers, Junior Dent, Ford Dent and Wills Dent. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Virgil( Violet) Hundley, Martinsville, Mrs. Donald Shirley) Bonyai, Branford, Conn., Mrs. Buddy (Betty Ann) Campbell, Penhook; a son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Carlyne Bondurant, New Haven, Conn.; three sisters, Lula Turner, Doris Powell, both of Glade Hill, Frances Pinkard, Collinsville; two brothers, Warren Dent, Rocky Mount, William Dent, Glade Hill; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine stepchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 12, 1995 at 11 a.m. in the McKee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Taylor, the Rev. Ted Clifton and the Rev. Windell Patterson officiating. Interment in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at McKee Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Rt. 5, Martinsville, Va. or the Snow Creek Rescue Squad, Rt. 2, Penhook, Va.
