Ralph Densford, 67; Army veteran
Funeral services for Ralph Densford, 67, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Park Place United Church in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Clark Memorial Hospital with family and friends by his side.
He was born April 4, 1942, in Jeffersonville and was the second child to Franklin E. Densford Sr. and Irene E. Webb Densford. He was 67 years old and had resided in Jeffersonville all of his life. He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church and former member of Springdale United Methodist Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel, belonged to the American Legion Post 35, AARP and was a U.S. Army veteran of which he was very proud. He loved animals, motorcycles, Elvis and old country music. He loved Mexico and Disney World and visited both numerous times. He enjoyed going to Derby Dinner to see Eddie Miles and Joanny Morris. People often told him that he looked like Kenny Rogers and some even called him that, including Joanny Morris. He worked for Catalysts and Chemicals, Caldwill Tanks and Essex International and Springdale United Methodist Church before he became disabled.
He is survived by his wife Eva M. Klingsmith Densford (they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary May 16); two daughters, Robyn L. Crouthamel and her husband, Norm, of Jeffersonville, and Kristi H. Brownfield and her former husband, John of Canon City, Colo.; three sons, Ralph Densford Jr. and his companion, Theresa Horlander, Shawn Densford, of Jeffersonville, and Angel A.A. Densford and his wife, Kay; 10 grandchildren, John, Kyra and Kaitlyn Brownfield of Canon City, Colo., Noah C. Crouthamel, U.S. Army, stationed in Alabama, Lacy A. Crouthamel, of Jeffersonville, Sunshine R. and Dakota T.A. Densford, of Jeffersonville, Mackaela and Mackenzy Densford, of Sellersburg and Cameron A. Densford, of Salem; three great-granddaughters, Aerianna, Melina Rae and Gracie Mae Brownfield; three brothers, Melvin L. Brown and his wife, Debbie, of Louisville, Monte Densford, and Dwayne Densford and his wife, Margaret, of Jeffersonville; six sisters, Norma Suddeth, of Jeffersonville, Brenda Lloyd and her husband, Ronnie, of Tell City, Denece Noria, of Shelbyville, Ky., Sandra Cummins, of Kansas City, Kan., Wanda J. Jenkins and her husband, Dallas, of Jeffersonville, Pam Mendez and her husband, Tino, of Charlestown; also good friend and ex brother-in-law, Joe Kern, and his wife, Mary, of Clarksville; two army buddies, Dick Dudkowski and his wife, Miriam Buchanan, of Michigan and Lyndon Barrows and his wife, Judy, of Illinois; his beloved, faithful "four-legged" babies, Pee Wee, Taco, Baby and Petunia; 25 nieces and nephews; and 50 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Irene Densford; two brothers, Frank Jr. and Daniel Ray Densford; sister, Nancy Redmon Wynn; grandson, Chandler A. Densford; and nephew Donald Rose III.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to the time of service Friday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Park Place United Church or may go to the family.
