FORT WORTH -- Ray Denman, 59, of Fort Worth, formerly of Kennard, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Chuch in Kennard. Burial: to follow in New Hope Cemetery in Kennard, with the Rev. John Foreman officiating.
Arthur Ray Denman was born July 14, 1943, in Kennard to Valor and Lessie Mae Gilmore Denman. He was a member of the Allen Chapel AME Church in Ratcliff. He was employed by Miller Brewing for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. military and was a Vietnam veteran. He was honorably discharged. He was a member of Teamsters Local 997, a shop steward for 20 years and a lifetime member of the NAACP. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Effrage Davis and Jerry Bowens.
Survivors: Sisters, Sandra Mattocks of Austin, Gwen Bell of Fort Worth, Joyce Lumpkin of Palestine and Bernestine Garner of Pollok.
