Andover, NH - Albert H. Demers, 85, of Morrill Hill Road, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at The Clough Center in New London. He was born in Manchester, NH on July 10, 1925 the son of Ernest and Emelia (Morin) Demers. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was overseas in Italy, France and Africa for about two years. Al graduated from Southern NH University. He was a banker for Amoskeag Savings Bank in Manchester retiring in 1986. He moved to Andover in 2001 previously living in Manchester for many years and wintered in Apache Junction, AZ. Al was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish and was a 65+ year member of American Legion Post #43 in Manchester. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the NH Archaeological Society. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved animals. Members of his family surviving include his wife of 63 years, Mary (Smith) Demers of Andover, NH; two daughters, Karen "Fred" Gross of Andover, NH and Patti Bailey of Groton, NH; two grandchildren, Tory Bailey and Lacey Bailey; a brother, Raymond E. Demers of Hooksett, NH and a nephew and his wife, Marc and Chris Demers. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Church, Potter Place, NH. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to the NH Veterans Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 626, Concord, NH 03302-0626 or the Andover Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 209, Andover, NH 03216. Chadwick Funeral Service of New London, NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
