Edith M. Brindley, 83, of Versailles, passed away Friday at the Waters at Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born at Correct on April 21, 1919 the daughter of James and Grace Lane Delay and was married to Victor Brindley on April 19, 1943 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1971. She was a 1938 graduate of Versailles High School and a member of the New Marion Baptist Church for over 70 years. Mrs. Brindley was employed by the Delaney Wood Heel Factory in Versailles and retired from Reliance Electric in 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Diem and her husband David of Versailles, and Rita Moore and her husband Jim of Dupont; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; her twin sister Edna Hayes of Greensburg. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John, Elvan, Truman, Roy, and Raymond Delay, her sisters Glenna Black, Elsie Hyatt, and Neva Sharp. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am at the New Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles. Visitation will be Sunday December 22 from 3pm to 6pm at the Stratton Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be made to the New Marion Baptist Church or the Cliff Hill Cemetery.
