Kolter Michael DeLange "Pup", 21, of Brazilton, Kansas, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident east of Walnut, Kansas.
Pup was born October 21, 1991 at Girard. He grew up in Brazilton and graduated from Girard High School in 2010. He attended Fort Scott Community College where he studied Agri Business.
From an early age, Pup worked side by side with his grandpa, dad, and brother farming, raising cattle, and running DeLange Equipment in Brazilton.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Hepler, the Hepler Hustlers 4-H Club and he also participated in Junior Leaders, the National Future Farmers of America, the Crawford County Firefighters Association, and the Brazilton Fire Department.
Pup enjoyed shooting and hunting, raising cattle and farming, playing cards and marbles with his family, Craig's List, and his dog, Jake.
Survivors are his parents of Brazilton; a sister of Fort Scott, a sister and brother-in-law of Girard, and brother of Brazilton and his girlfriend; and Kolter's girlfriend, of Girard.
He was the best Uncle Pup to his nieces and nephew. Pup is also survived by his grandparents of Brazilton and of Chanute; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He will be missed by his many friends and family.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. Michael's Hall in Girard with Pastor Jay Hobson officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Brazilton with graveside honors by the Firefighters Association Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 1:00 p.m., Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Kolter DeLange Memorial Scholarship at the Girard High School and these may be left at the funeral or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743
