Patrick Owen Delaney went to the Lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2001. Patrick was born on February 18, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Olen and Willie John Delaney. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1956, Central State College in 1960 and Oklahoma City University School of Law receiving his J.D. in 1968. Employed with Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company from 1962 until 1974. Patrick was in the general practice of law from 1974 until 1982. He also served as an associate municipal judge in Jones and Luther, Oklahoma. Patrick served in the Oklahoma City Municipal Courts both as an associate and presiding judge from 1982 until his retirement in 1997. He was involved in numerous organizations including the Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma Municipal Judges Association Past President, Oklahoma County Bar Association, Siloam Masonic Lodge #276, Guthrie Consistory, India Shrine Temple, Nova Chapter, O.E.S. Past Patron, 45th Infantry Division Museum-Volunteer, TKE Alumni TAU Kappa Epsilon, Eastern Star Nova Chapter.
He is survived by his wife, LaGatha, of 33 years and his daughter, Vicki. He is also survived by his cousin, Don and Sue Smith of Terrel, Texas and their children and Dick and Clandel Shaw and their children. He is also survived by his close family members Russell and Lucille Lewis, Jerry and Gerit Lewis, Bill Haikey, Connie and Randy Taylor, and Johnny and Jina Haikey. He had his special nieces and nephews, Christie and Mike Barns and their children Taylor and Delaney, Meredith and Kirk Wagoner, Bonnie and Steve Sheehan and their children Nicholas and Atlena, Julie Haikey and Nathan Haikey. Patrick had many dear and close friends, all who were special to him, which he always enjoyed spending time with them. Thanks to Maxine Perrin, a special friend and walking pal, who kept him on his walking program. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Quail Springs United Methodist Church, or organization of choice. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2001 at 10:00 AM at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
