Alex Del Rio began his career with the Hollywood Police Department as a Community Service Officer. moving up to becoming a Police Officer then a specialized Unit Traffic Homicide, ALex loved his job, he was a source of joy and inspiration.
On November 22, 2008 while conducting traffic enforcement Alex was in pursuit of a speeder. For unknown reasons. he lost control of the police car and struck a tree. Officer Del Rio died on the scene. From the Local news of the "Sun Sentinel, 3000 people including family members and fellow police officers paid tribute to the loss of a 9 year veteran of the force. the service was simulcast at Calvary Chapel of Ft. Lauderdale. After the service the procession headed to the Police Headquarters where the procession paused, from there Officer Alex Del Rio was laid to rest. He was 31 years Old.
