Vivien Dekle Allen, 66, of Deland, Fla., and a former longtime resident of Monmouth County, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Orange City, Fla.
She graduated from Freehold Regional High School, Brookdale Community College (AA Degree), and Monmouth Bible Institute, Howell (valedictorian and class secretary, 1994). She retired after over 15 years of employment as a courthouse clerk (family division) in Freehold. She has been a resident of Florida for three years and has lived in Indian River County, Fla., as well as Volusia County. Vivien worshipped at Wabasso COG and was a member of the Tabernacle of Praise in Deland, where she was a church mother.
Survivors include her husband, John Allen, Matawan; children, Johnathan Allen (Latoya), Dover, Del., Christopher Allen, Lithonia, Ga., and Vivian Wright (Brian), Deltona, Fla.; mother, Georgia Mae Dekle, Long Branch; brothers, Freddie Lee Dekle Jr., Freehold, and Clifford Dekle, Newark; sisters, Mattie Pace, Long Branch, Alma Miller (Glenn), Sebastian, Fla., Christine Doyle, Asbury Park, and Sharon Spencer, Willingboro; 13 grandchildren; other relatives, church family and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19 until the homegoing celebration at 12 noon at Greater Refuge Church of Our Lord, Deland, Fla., with Bishop Henry James, officiating. Burial following at Oakdale Cemetery, Deland.
