Deininger, Anna E.
MONROE — Anna E. Deininger, age 84, of Monroe passed away on Monday, May 4, 1992 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. She was born on January 29, 1908 in Oey Diemtigen, Canton of Bern, Switzerland, the daughter of David and Emilie (Stocker) Karlen. She attended schools in Switzerland and also beautician school in Milwaukee. She came to the U.S. in the early 1920's.
She married Wilbur E. "Doc" Deininger on May 7, 1940. She worked with her mother at Karlen's Bakery in Monroe and then owned and operated Ann's Beauty Shop in Monroe for many years. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe, past president of the G.U.G.G., a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Zilmer-Riley Post #84, a member of the VFW Auxiliary Cecil Jones Post #2312, and a member of the Monroe Women's Club.
Surviving are her husband, Wilbur E. Deininger; two sons, Karl E. Bregenzer of Merritt Island, Florida, and David G. Deininger of Monroe; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the SHRINER-NEUSHWANDER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe; the Reverend Dr. Ralph Falsst of St. John's United Church of Christ officiated. Burial, Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe.
