Abraham Deichman, Sr., a coverlet weaver and dyer by trade, was a native of Easton, Pennsylvania and a son of John Deichman, a native of Prussia who immigrated to America during the French and Indian War, and served through the Revolutionary war. Abraham Deichman, Sr. was the parent of eight children: John, Catherine, Susan (wife of David Johnson), Abraham Jr., Edward, Peter, Sally (wife of John Brown) and Mary A. (wife of John Strauss). He served in the war of 1812 at Marcus Hook, below Philadelphia.
