Mrs. Mark (Diana L. Ashby) Dehority, 45, of
Carpentersville, formerly of Decatur, died Monday (Dec. 9, 1991) in Alexian Brothers Hospital, Elk Grove.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Brintlinger's Funeral Home, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. A memorial fund has been set up in Diana's honor for Virginia Slifer of
Carpentersville. Virginia is a friend of Diana's who is suffering from incurable brain cancer and does not have insurance coverage. Please send your contributions to Brintlinger's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dehority was born in Evansville, Ind., daughter of James E. and Lula Mae Gibbons Ashby. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1964. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and very active in school and child-rearing activities. Diana was blind, but she still acted as room mother, sponsor and even coached one of her daughter's softball teams. Diana was a resident of Decatur from 1956 to 1990 when she moved to the Chicago area with her family. She married Mark K. Dehority in 1965.
Surviving are her husband; children, Mark of Decatur and Shelley of Carpentersville; brothers, Robert Ashby of Bement; Thomas Ashby of Louisville, Ky.
Her father and one brother, James E. Ashby Jr., preceded her in death.
