At his home near Freedom, Albert M. DEER (sic - DEERE) died Saturday morning following a long illness from Brights Disease [chronic or acute Nephritis]. He was born at the old homestead near Bluff Mills, Oct 19, 1865. On March 24, 1891, he was married to Rebecca Ann Whittington. The young couple began life together on a farm near Freedom church and their entire life has been spent in this home. Both he and his wife were faithful, devoted members of the Freedom Baptist Church where Mr. Deer was superintendent of the Sunday school for many years, and at the time of his death a member of the board of trustees. Mr. and Mrs. Deer were the parents of 5 children, one son dying in infancy. Surviving are the widow and four children; Mrs. Ben Mitchell of Byron; Mrs Charles Walker and Cecil Deere of Indianapolis and one son, Joel at home. There are six grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers. The funeral services will be conducted at the Freedom Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2 in charge of Rev. HH Elmore. Interment in Freedom Cemetery.

Albert M. Deere, who died in Evansville, Saturday, was buried at Freedom Cemetery after services at the Church on Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. H. Elmore. He was the son of Joel Deere and was b. at Bluff Mills, Oct 19, 1865. He marr. Rebecca Ann Whittington, March 24, 1891. She survives him with four children: Mrs. Ben Mitchel, Byron; Mrs. Charles Walker and Cecil Deere of Indianapolis; and Joel at home. Mrs. Deere is in very poor health.
