Helen Louise Deere Bundrant
COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Helen Louise Deere Bundrant, 74, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at New Beginning Fellowship Church. Interment will follow in West Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Mrs. Bundrant died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at her home.
She was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Bristol to the late Preston Wayne (PW) and Mae Leslie Deere.
Mrs. Bundrant studied psychology at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va., and earned her master's degree in Christian education at Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Ga.
She met her husband of 50 years, Jim Bundrant, while in college. They married in 1961, and served the Lord together as missionaries to South Korea for 22 years. After their time in Korea, they lived in Bristol; Huntsville, Ala.; Appalachia and Big Stone Gap, Va., before moving to Cookeville in 1988.
Mrs. Bundrant was a member of New Beginning Fellowship Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bundrant was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Deere.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, in honor of Mrs. Bundrant's deep love for the Lord and service to Him, memorial contributions may be made to New Beginning Fellowship Church, PO Box 2367, Cookeville, TN 38502, or to The Gideons International (www.gideons.org).
Pastor Randy Hill will officiate the services.
