APPLING, Ga. - Rebecca Aldridge Sammons, 71, wife of the late Donald Lee Sammons, entered into rest Monday, April 1, 2013 at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 2:00 PM from the chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Rich Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Sammons, daughter of the late Elmer and Viola Smith Deen, was born in Douglas, GA, and was a caregiver. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Gossett; her brothers, Earl Deen, Julius Deen, and James Deen; and her sisters, Bertie Knight, and Johnnie Faye Chaney. She is survived by her sons, Tony Aldridge and his wife, Melissa, of Hephzibah, Darrell Gossett, of Augusta, and Jarrett Sammons, of Lincolnton; her daughters, Gloria Wright, and Darlene Wright, both of Augusta; her brother, Jack Deen, of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Jason Wheeler, Duke Youngblood, Taylor Aldridge, and Blade Aldridge; great granddaughter, Kaley Youngblood- Fields; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Danny Watton, David Wall, Ken Snell, Rossie Bryant, Adam Shelton, and James T. Jones. The family will receive friends Friday, April 5, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
