Virginia E. Boyd, 87, of Parkersburg went home to be with her Lord surrounded by her family Aug. 22, 2008. She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Cyrus M. Deem and Clara (Peyton) Deem. Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was very important to her and always came first. She was a master seamstress for many years in Parkersburg before her retirement and was a founding member of the Calvary Memorial Church.

Surviving are two sons, Joe and David Boyd of Parkersburg; daughter, Cindy Terrell of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Aaron Boyd, Heather Walker and her husband, Aaron, and Ryan Terrell; three great-grandchildren, Devan, Kaylee and Zach; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Memorial Church, with Pastor Rob Collins officiating. Intement will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Boyd's name may be made to the Calvary Memorial Church, Wayside Farm Road, Parkersburg. The family would like to thank the staff of the third floor at St. Joseph's Hospital for the love and care they showed for our mother.
