Dies At RMH
Funeral Services Held Sunday at 2 p.m. Mt. Horeb U. B.
HINTON, Jan. 10 -- Mrs. Katie Arey, Widow of the late Luther Arey, of Hinton, died this morning at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for the past two weeks.
She was born on June 14, 1869 and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Detrick. Mrs. Arey was born at Hinton and spent most of her life in that section.
A number of years ago she united with the Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren and was a faithful member of that church
Her husband preceded her in death about ten years ago, and she is survivied by two sons, Roy Arey, of Hinton and Marvin Arey, of Marshalltown, Iowa. A daughter preceded her death a number of years ago. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Samuel McDorman, of Dayton, Mrs Nelia Clayton, of Harrisonburg and Mrs. Verdie Garey, of Richmond, Mrs. Arey was preceded in death by thee brothers and three sisters Eight grandchildren survive.
