Vida Grace Decker, age 94, of Lynden, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005. Vida's memory lives on as an encouraging, firm, and generous woman. She knew how to make people's lives easier, especially those who were struggling. She held to her beliefs, such as when she picketed the dining room for not having clam chowder anymore on Fridays. And she and LeRoy raised a garden each year, only to give most of the produce away.

Her Lord and church, family, and people around her, especially those at Lynden Manor, where (sic) very important to her. All the kids at Northside Community Alliance knew her as grandma.

Vida is preceded in death by her husband LeRoy; son Bob; and sister Katherine. She is survived by her son Bill (Louise) Decker; brother Willie (Margie) Loop; daughter-in-law Donna Decker; grandchildren: Roxanne Decker, Cindy (John) Alsum, Deanna Decker, Kathy (Robert) Foster, and John (Annie) Decker; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 17, 12 noon at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham, followed by a Memorial Service at Grace Baptist Fellowship, 1:30 pm, Lynden, with a reception following at the church.
