Billy G. Decker, 65, of Barling, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, in his home. He was of the Church of Christ faith; an Army veteran of the Korean War in 121st M.P. Company and 142nd Field Artillery of the Arkansas National Guard; a life member and past vice president of VFW Post No. 8845; was an employee of Wards and DeSoto Furniture for 20 years. He retired as superintendent of OK Food Industry after 17 years.
Funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2002, at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Douglass Cemetery in Jenny Lind.
Pallbearers were: Sam Sujit, Bob Coleman, Jimmy Clark, Bill Parlin, Bob Carter and Kevin Howell.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; a daughter, Lisa Lee of Barling; a son, Michael Decker of Lavaca; his mother, Annie Decker of Jenny Lind; three sisters, Betty Martin of Greenwood, Louella Howell of Moore, Okla., and Inita Vickers of Everman, Texas; and three grandchildren.
