Martha Easter Daffron, 94, of New Castle died Monday in Henry County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Daughter of the late Jeffery and Emily Burton Decker, she was born on April 12, 1903, in Wayne County, KY.

She had been employeed at Spot and Wayne's Grill in New Castle where she worked as a cook. Mrs. Daffron was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Phenninger of Dubois, Idaho, Betty (husband Jack) Blevins of New Castle and Martha (husband Charles) Crowhorn of New Castle; two sons, Joseph Daffron of Dublin and James (wife Dixie) Daffron of Kirksville, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a half sister, Alice Coffee of Wayne County, KY.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Daffron was preceded in death by two sons, Homer and Hubert Daffron; two infant daughters; and one sister, Fannie Decker.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with the Rev. Leonard R. Dice officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Parkinson Awareness Association of Central Indiana in care of the funeral home.
