Allen Q. Decker, formerly of Bellingham, died of cancer Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in Home, Alaska. He was 60. He was buried in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery.


He was born May 6, 1938 to Arnold and Juanita Decker in Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1956.


Mr. Decker served in the US Marine Corps in the 1950s.


He worked for Burlington-Northern Railway for 12 years and was a commercial fisher in Washington and Alaska. He also lived in New Zealand.


A member of the Elks Lodge, Mr. Decker enjoyed hunting and fishing.


Survivors include son Jim Decker of Kent, daughters Tammy Montos and Deanna Harral, both of New York City, brother Steve Decker of Ariel, sister Arnita Sams of Bellingham and 10 grandchildren.
