HAMILTON, Texas - Services for Grace Deaton Cates, 94, of College Station and formerly of Hamilton are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton. The Rev. Gilbert Donald will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Cates died Sunday in the College Station Medical Center.
She was born in the Sunshine community of Hamilton County and was a member of the Victory Temple Church. She worked in the garment manufacturing business as a seamstress for Patty of Texas and was a former employee of the Garner-Alvis Dry Good Store.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Claude "Jack" Cates.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carolyn Thompson of Waco, Laura Jo and Edward Henderson of College Station and Vivian Wynell Cates and Bobby Young of West Columbia, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Deaton and Jan Rigsby of Lubbock; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
