AUSTIN -- Monroe A. Dearmin, 96, a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa, and fomerly of 200 First Ave N.E. in Austin, died Sunday (March 1, 1992) at the nursing home.
Born July 8, 1895, near Oakland, Minn., he attended schools in that area and served in the Navy during World War I. On May 8, 1937, he married Tena Omsberg at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Mr. Dearmin was a self- employed carpenter and a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church and was an active member of the World War I Veterans organization.
Survivors include a daughter, Marnae Schauer of Austin; two sons, Howard of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Tom of Lyle; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucy Maye Stevens and Esther Lundberg, both of Austin. His wife, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin, with the Rev. Robert A. Morgan officiating. Spring burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Oakland.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
