Arnold Funeral Home obituary: Fred M. Deardorff, 93 of Auxvasse, died at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico. Mr. Deardorff was born Oct. 29, 1914 in Callaway County, the son of Charley Carson and Sarah Elizabeth (Hendrix) Deardorff. On Nov. 11, 1937 in Columbia, he married Lorene G. Sitton. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2000. Fred had farmed all of his life. He was a member of the Auxvasse Christian Church and the National Farmers Organization. Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Knipp and husband, Darrel, of Auxvasse, Joy Moore and husband, John, of Mexico, Debby Glueckert of Portage, Ind. and Gretta Dearforff of Auxvasse; six grandchildren, Kenny (Deanna) Knipp, Teresa (Greg) Riley, Steve (Jennifer) Knipp, Jay (Paula) Moore, Jerry Moore and Elsie Fletcher, and Justin (Kelly) Moore; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Joe Deardorff of Boulder City, Nevada; and one sister, Mary Alice Coil and husband, Dick, of Auxvasse. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Deardorff and two sisters, Lucille Boyd and Ora Bell Moss. Memorials may be made to the Auxvasse Christian Church.
