The daughter of Fred and Ruby York, she was born Nov. 20, 1922 at Adel. She married Harold Deardorff on Feb. 15, 1942. She lived most of her life in Adel, and was retired from farming with her husband. She was a member of the Panther Creek Church of the Brethren and the church's Brethren Women's Fellowship, the Friendly Neighbor Club, the Ankeny Card Club and the Panther Card Club.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby York.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; two sons, Ron of Adel and Tom of Port Republic, Md.; a daughter, Mary Kamerman of Sioux Center; her father, Fred York of Adel; three brothers LaVerne York of Abilene, Kans. and Verle York and Carroll York, both of Adel; and 11 grandchildren.
