Mr. Deardorff was born in Bagley and had lived in Elkhart, Panora and Ankeny before moving to Adel 43 years ago. He was a retired farmer, a Navy Seabees veteran of World War II and a member of Adel American Legion.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Kamerman of Sioux Center; two sons, Ron of Adel and Tom of West Des Moines; three sisters, Ruth Abuhl of Ankney, Esther Thompson of Panora and Helen Pearsons of Council Bluffs; a brother, Paul of Ankeny; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marvel.
