In 1992, she received a Jefferson Award for her work as co-founder of the Iris Project, a drop-in center for people with mental illness.
She is survived by husband Don, a retired physicist-metallurgist; sister Joan Thomas of Hayward, Calif.; children Mollie Bonson, Linda Young, Jess Deardorff, Marcie Wolf and Pushpa Duncklee; numerous grandchildren; and her dog, Roxie.
At her request, her remains will be cremated and the family will hold private services.
