Dorothy Dean Birdsong, of Coalinga, Ca., passed away in Visalia, Ca., Dorothy was born in Bishop, Ca.
She was married to James Clyde Birdsong Jr, in September 1937 and was married for 51 years. They owned Birdsong Shoe Store in Coalinga from 1942 to 1978.
Dorothy was active in Native Daughters, Emblem Club, Senior Citizens and Red Hatters.
She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Clyde Birdsong Jr.; and granddaughter, Natalie Erin Birdsong.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Claudia and Jim Ramsey; her son and daughter-in-law Gary and Brenda Birdsong; seven grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at St Paul's Catholic Church in Coalinga.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. After Graveside Service a reception will follow at Kennan Hall behind the Church.A donation for Children's Hospital of Central California or a charity of your choice and will be happily accepted.
