August 23, 2011, Jesus sent an angel to Marion, Indiana, to come and take our beloved mother, Jeanette Dean home to glory.
Jeanette was born on December 3, 1943 to Donna Mae Owensby in Tiptonville, Tennessee. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She married William Dean, Sr. on December 2, 1960 in Marion, IN. To this union six children were born.
Jeanette was a member of Cathedral of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Michigan City, Indiana under the leadership of Rev. Dorsey T. Taylor for many, many years until moving to Indianapolis, Indiana. She joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. Jonathan Bailey. Later she moved to Marion, Indiana and in 2009 Jeanette joined House of Worship For All People under the guidance and teaching of Elder Thomas Nukes, where she has been a member until her death.
She leaves to cherish her memories; Son: William Dean, Jr. Anderson, Indiana; Daughter: Patricia A. (Donald) Boyd; Twins: Ronald L. Dean and Lisa D. (Rodney) Buffkins, both of St. Louis, MO; and Bruce Michael Dean, Indianapolis, Indiana. She also leaves her grandchildren: Te'Andra Taylor-Dean, Da'Ron McGowen, Erica Taylor-Dean, Tiy'Marble, Deray Boyd, Briona Buffkins, Jasmine Boyd, Che'Yanne Buffkins, Keegan Dean, Olivia Brown-Dean, Isabella Dean, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. Brothers and Sister: Orine Johnson, Charles (Lorese) Owensby, Vern (Bobbie) Owensby, Alfredzine Black, Wallace Owensby, Earl (Sara) Owensby; Sister-in-law Vera Owensby. Special friends she loved: Ms. Geraldine Taylor, Ms. Bernice Thompson, Lowell and JoAnn Jackson, John and Sara Coppage, and many, many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband William Dean Sr., beloved son Bryant D. Dean. Siblings: Jerry Cannon, Ocine Owensby, Willie B. Owensby and Jimmy Grant Owensby.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at House of Worship for All People, 1824 S. Branson Street, Marion, IN.
