Grangeville,Idaho--Clarine Opal Foust, 86, of Kooskia died Monday at Syringa General Hospital in Grangeville after a struggle with COPD.
She was born December 3, 1917 in Marshfield, (Coos Bay) Oregon a daughter of James and Ethel Hayes DeWolf.
She married William (Bill) Theodore Foust, a logger, and he preceded her in death in 1964.
Clarine was a 40 year on again/off again resident of the area while living in Idaho she worked as a nurses aid in the local nursing homes, and was always helping others who were in need.
As a retiree she embraced the numerous activities the great outdoors offers, gardening, crocheting, and taking her grandchildren along.
She is survived by a son, Gary and his wife Judy Foust of Colton, WA., four daughters, Donna and Ralph Groat of Sweet Home, OR., Joyce Dreadfulwater of Grangeville, ID., Roberta and her husband Charles Whitt of Forest, VA., and Charlotte Anderson of Lynchburg, VA.; and a sister, Jean Lawson of Kingsport, TN.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, a son, Theodore "ted" Manning Foust, a sister Lois Brady and two brothers, James "Vic" and Delbert "Dobe" DeWolf died earlier.
Funeral services were held Friday at Blackmer Funeral Home. Burial was Monday at 1p.m. in Sweet Home. Please join the family after the services on Friday at the Evergreen Assembly of God Church in Grangeville for a time of fellowship. Condolences to the family may be sent to Blackmerfuneralhome.com
