Death: Jun. 3, 1848

See Joseph for more information on this couple.

Sarah was the eighth of twelve children [five daughters] born to Peter Gibbons Jr and Sarah Greene. Church records show she was baptized by Rev. Jedediah Smith in 1764. Her siblings were: Elizabeth; Peter III; Lemuel; Bildad; twins Mary and Sarah [died young]; Timothy; Eli; Jedediah Howe; Mary; Hannah [died young].

On October 12, 1780, Sarah married Joseph DeWolf, son of Peter and Sarah (Couch) DeWolf, in Granby, Connecticut. They had 13 children; the first ten were born in Granby; the last three in Vernon, Ohio. They were pioneer settlers in that area where, according to "History of Trumbull & Mahoning Counties," Vol. 2, pg 383, they moved in the spring of 1800, settling one mile south of the town.
