FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JAMES EVERETT DEWEESE
Funeral services for James E. DeWeese, 35 years old, were held Tuesday, July 14, at Powell Church near Indian Grove. Burial was in Powell Cemetery.
James Everett DeWeese, son of Edward and Lillian DeWeese was born Oct. 17, 1917, near Huntsville in Randolph County. He died Sunday, July 12, at McCormick Hospital in Moberly where he had been taken for treatment just a few hours before his death. Although the state of his health had not been too good for several months, his death was quite unexpected.
In 1940 he entered the armed services, but was given a medical discharge three months later. In 1942 he went to Kansas City where he was employed by Cudahy Packing Co. Ill health forced him to give up his job and on Apr. 15 this year he returned to the home of his parents.
He was converted early in life and joined the Bethel Baptist Church.
Besides his parents he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jack Parsons of Kansas City; and by his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Elbert DeWeese of Indian Grove.
