She passed away on May 8, 1993 in Mountain View Health Care in Mountain View, MO at 93 years of age. She married Harley Otis Atkins on March 30, 1918 in Eminence, MO, and to this union four sons and six daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 11, 1992; one infant son, two grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by three sons, Fred and Bob Atkins of Winona, MO; Rex of Hannibal, MO; six daughters, Lorene Myers of Winona, MO; Aileen Voyles of Alton, MO; Donna Bressler, Betty McIntire and Avanell Sallee of Winona, Mo; and Nedra Holland of High Ridge, MO; one brother, Herald DeWeese of Eminence, MO; 35 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, 49 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. She was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church at Winona, MO. Funeral services were held on May 11, 1993, 10 am, in Duncan's Funeral Chapel in Winona with Rev. Robert Sneed and Rev. Ed Sherrill officiating. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Winona.
