Alice V. Baldwin, 84, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Alice was born on December 22, 1928, in Grandview, Indiana, to the late Clay and Evelyn (James) Deweese. She married Joseph N. Baldwin on December 26, 1976, in Petersburg, Indiana.
Alice taught school for 32 years and was the former Libarian of the Carnegie Public Library in Butler.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Butler.
Alice was Past Matron of the Butler Order of Eastern Stars and is currenly a member of the Spencerville Chapter 386 O.E.S. Alice enjoyed traveling, some of her favorite trips were to Russia, Israel, and Belize, South American. She was also in the Peace Corps.
Alice is survived by her husband, Joseph N. Baldwin of Butler.
She was preceded in death by a a brother, Charles Deweese.
Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home in Butler with calling from noon to 2 p.m. at the H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home in Butler with calling from noon to 2 p.m. the same day. Pastor Paul A. Patton of the Church of the Nazarene will be officiating. Burial will be in the Butler Cemetery. Memorials are to the church.
