Anna Rose Benner, 86, 305 S. Sandusky St., died at 9:44 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born in Seneca County, Dec. 28, 1912, to William and Gertrude Rose (Hoepf) Dewald.
Her husband, Paul Benner, whom she married Nov. 20, 1937, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1997.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Peter J. (Patricia) Tinkovicz of Columbus, Fred G. Benner of Delaware, Ohio, Mrs. Steven (Margaret) Hastings of Fostoria and Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Flechtner of Tiffin; two sisters, Mary Elchert of Fostoria and Frances Dewald of Bascom; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Ivo and Herman Dewald; and two sisters, Gertrude Nichols and Dolores Dewald, also are deceased.
Mrs. Benner, a homemaker, had been employed as an inspector at Grabblers; in food service at Heidelberg College and as a housekeeper at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, its Altar Rosary Society and the Allen Eiry Senior Center.
The Rev. William Rose will be the celebrant at the 10 a.m. Wednesday funeral Mass in St. Mary Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 3:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Commission on Aging or a charity of the donor's choice.
